NLC PROTECTS VIII - A California Success Print E-mail

Ninety law enforcement professionals attended the eighth NLC PROTECTS seminar in Irvine, California on July 17 & 18. The attendees included prosecutors and law enforcement officers from across the Golden State and from as far away as Alaska.

Seminar speakers included an great line up of California investigators and prosecutors, including representatives from the US Attorneys Offices for the Central and Eastern Districts, the FBI, and the San Diego Sheriff's Office. They were joined by national expert on topics such as computer forensics and sex offender management.  

According to one attendee, the seminar featured "quality instructors with a true desire to help officers and protect children."  Nearly 50% of survey respondents indicated that the NLC PROTECTS seminar exceeded their expectations, with the remaining respondents satisfied that the seminar met their expectations with experienced instructors, good food, and a wealth of resource materials.

The next NLC PROTECTS is scheduled for the Palmetto State of  South Carolina  on September 12 & 13, 2007.

19th NLC PROTECTS Seminar Wrap-up
nashville2photo.jpgThe National Law Center for Children and Families held its 19th PROTECTS seminar in Franklin, Tennessee on November 4th and 5th. A total of 53 law enforcement officers, prosecutors and probation and parole officers attended the event which took place at the Embassy Suites Hotel: Nashville South-Cool Springs. Participants came in from various Tennessee jurisdictions as well as Alabama, Kentucky, Indiana, Utah and South Carolina.

The attendees were pleased with the quality of the training. One attendee commented that the seminar's strength was in "...the tools and information that I will be able to use in my investigations." Another attendee found that the contacts they made with other agencies was a particular highlight of the program.

 The National Law Center would like to show its appreciation to all participants, speakers and expo partners - AccessData , Pen-Link , Rimage and Thomson Reuters - who made this event a triumph.
