NLC Executive Director speaks in Ohio on sex offender regulations Print E-mail

Executive Director Richard Whidden spoke to over 100 law enforcement officers and attorneys at the Ohio Attorney General's Annual Law Enforcement Conference in Columbus, Ohio on October 27, 2006. He provided an overview of efforts by local governments to regulate sex offenders across the nation and discussed case law interpreting those efforts.

"This is an area of law that is changing almost on a weekly basis,"  Whidden told his audience, noting that several court decisions had taken place in the past few weeks affecting local ordinances regulating sex offenders.

The NLC is a resource for education on numerous topics related to sexual exploitation and child protection. If your organization would like to host a speaker on topics related to sexual exploitation, such as implementation of the Adam Walsh act or the local government regulation of sex offenders, please contact the NLC by clicking here.
