The NLC PROTECTS/Iowa ICAC Task Force Seminar drew 50 attendees on September 1 and 2, 2009. Convened at Camp Dodge in Johnston, Iowa, the participants came in from various Iowa jurisdictions plus Missouri, Minnesota, South Dakota, and South Carolina.
As the NLC PROTECTS 17th training program funded by the U.S. Deparment of Justice, the seminar in Iowa garnered praise from its attendees. Trainees responded (in anonymous surveys) that the seminar's overall strengths included "wide range of material," "professional presenters," "speakers knowledge," "all aspects of investigations," and "diverse representation of attorneys, child services, investigators" for networking.
The National Law Center was pleased to be able to work with the Iowa ICAC Task Force in presenting a successful seminar.

for Children and Families held its 20th PROTECTS seminar on March 17th
and 18th in Tampa, Florida. Law enforcement officers as well as
probation and parole officers attended this two day event which took place at
the Corporate Training Center - Hillsborough Community College. Attendees who came
from various Florida jurisdictions received training on sex offender
management, basic computer/ internet forensics and other child exploitation
issues.
