The National Law Center for Children and Families is proud to support the non-profit organziation KaBoom! in their efforts to unite children, families and communites in an outdoor event that just lets kids play! The NLC encourages our law enforcement partners to consider hosting a KaBoom! PlayDay in September 2009 in their communities.
A KaBOOM! Play Day is a free, fun-for-the-whole-family
outdoor event that celebrates play. Combining national reach with local impact,
it's a block party, a back-yard BBQ, and a field day all rolled into one - a
turn-key event that helps organizations and communities celebrate play with
their students, members, supporters, donors, and community leaders.
Taking place any day from September 19th through September
27th, KaBOOM! Play Days will give hundreds of thousands of people across the
country the chance to do something simple to help their community.

The National
Law Center
for Children and Families held its 19th PROTECTS seminar in Franklin, Tennessee
on November 4th and 5th. A total of 53 law enforcement
officers, prosecutors and probation and parole officers attended the event
which took place at the Embassy Suites Hotel: Nashville South-Cool Springs.
Participants came in from various Tennessee
jurisdictions as well as Alabama, Kentucky, Indiana, Utah and South
Carolina.
The attendees were pleased with the quality of the
training. One attendee commented that the seminar's strength was in "...the tools
and information that I will be able to use in my investigations." Another
attendee found that the contacts they made with other agencies was a particular
highlight of the program.
The National
Law Center
would like to show its appreciation to all participants, speakers and expo
partners - AccessData , Pen-Link , Rimage and Thomson Reuters - who made this event a triumph.
