The National Law Center for Children and Families invites law enforcement professionals to register for the NLC PROTECTS National Seminar "Confronting the Challenge of Sexual Exploitation."

The NLC PROTECTS National Seminar is a training for local, state, and federal prosecutors, law enforcement officers, child advocates, and other child sexual abuse professionals.  The training will be held January 20-22, 2009 at the Doubletree Hotel at the Entrance to Universal Orlando in Orlando, FL.  

Over 60 sessions will be presented on a variety of topics with practical, up-to-date information that will help you and your office fight the battle of child exploitation.  The Florida Bar has approved this training for up to 18.0 general hours of Continuing Legal Education credit for prosecutors in the state.

 Registration is open until January 9, 2009.  Travel stipends are available to help offset the costs of travel and lodging, apply early!

NLC Commends Internet Service Providers' Agreement on Child Pornography Access
Cooperation with New York Attorney General acknowledges private sector working to curtail illegal content

ALEXANDRIA, Va. - June 16, 2008 - The National Law Center for Children and Families (NLC), a national nonprofit organization dedicated to combating child sexual exploitation, commended three Internet service providers (ISPs) for an agreement to purge their servers of child pornography newsgroups and Web sites.

In addition to restricting customer access to the illegal material, the ISPs - Verizon, Time Warner Cable and Sprint - agreed to donate more than $1 million to be used for additional anti-child pornography efforts within the attorney general's office and through nonprofit organizations.
