NLC Associate Counsel Speaks at National Symposium Print E-mail

The National Law Center for Children and Families was represented at the National Symposium on Child Abuse from March 17-20 in Huntsville, Alabama.  Hosted by the National Children's Advocacy Center, the Symposium drew child advocates, law enforcement officers, and prosecutors from across the country.

Tiffany Richards, NLC Associate Counsel and NLC PROTECTS Program Director, was invited to speak at the Symposium.  Her presentation discussed how Child Advocacy Centers, non-profit organizations, and police departments alike can search and apply for funding from various sources.

"It was an honor to speak at the NCAC Symposium alongside so many respected presenters," said Ms. Richards.   "I appreciated the opportunity to share my experiences at the NLC with others who hope to obtain funding for their projects."

"We are proud that Tiffany was invited to present at this prestigious conference. Participating in national conferences like the NCAC Symposium is an important part of the NLC's effort to reach others who are concerned with defending children and familes," said Richard Whidden, NLC Executive Director.

Ms. Richards has been invited to make a similar presentation on grant opportunities at the 20th Annual Crimes Against Children Conference in Dallas, Texas this August.  Registration for this national conference is now open.

National Police Week: May 13-19, 2007

In appreciation of the dedicated service of police officers across the country, the National Law Center for Children and Families is proud to support National Police Week.  We reflect upon officers who have fallen and would like to express our gratitude for the daily sacrifices made by officers.

May 15th has been National Peace Officers Memorial Day since President John F. Kennedy signed Public Law 87-726 on October 1, 1962.  The week containing May 15th is National Police Week.
