National Law Center and SR Technologies Team Up on Wi-Fi Workshops for Law Enforcement

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – March 1, 2010 - The National Law Center for Children and Families is proud to announce a conference and training partnership with SR Technologies, Inc.(SRT), a leading developer of 802.11 investigative tools for the United States Government.  In conjunction with National Law Center, SRT will present two cutting edge workshops centered on the challenges 802.11x (Wi-Fi) products and services creates for law enforcement.

To assist the National Law Center in its mission to protect children from sexual exploitation, SRT will be demonstrating investigative tools and techniques related to wireless devices at our Tampa (March 17-18) and San Diego (May 20-21) law enforcement seminars.

SRT will discuss and demonstrate various open source exploits that are commonly available to the public to exploit the personality and information of wireless devices.  Exploitation of personal data, pattern of life and location data will be shown in an interactive exercise during the presentation.  SRT will also discuss wireless countermeasures and how Law Enforcement can utilize these exploits in the execution of their duties.

“The use of Wi-Fi is an emerging area of cybercrime and, unfortunately, these technologies can be used in crimes that harm children,” said Richard R. Whidden, Jr. Executive Director of the National Law Center. “We are committed to bringing the most useful innovations to law enforcement across the nation and we are proud to partner with an innovator in Wi-Fi investigations like SRT.”

“The law enforcement community is facing a significant and growing challenge with the proliferation of Wi-Fi enabled communication devices,” said JR Russell, Director of SRT’s Law Enforcement Division. “These technologies can be used by nefarious elements of our society to operate anonymously without concern for detection, but we are partnering with the National Law Center in an effort to educate law enforcement and protect children from cybercriminals.”

As a primary US Government contractor since 1999 with excellent performance ratings in the design, manufacturing and fielding of mission-critical hardware and software solutions to federal, state and local government agencies, SRT has now developed a specific set of 802.11 investigative tools for law enforcement.
