Indianapolis NLC PROTECTS draws attendees from five states
The National Law Center
produced its 17th NLC PROTECTS Seminar in Indianapolis, Indiana
on June 30 and July 1, 2009. The seminar was attended by over 70 law
enforcement professionals, prosecutors and probation officers from Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky and Missouri. Speakers from
across the nation as well as local Indiana
officials presented topics covering basic computer forensics, sex offender
management, on-line investigations, interviewing techniques and other child
exploitation crime topics.
"The conference was EXCELLENT. I knew nothing of
"virtual worlds" and now I feel I understand them - and the potential dangers inherent to them," remarked one attendee after the conference.
"We were proud to bring the NLC PROTECTS Seminar to the
Heartland of America. Unfortunately, as one of speakers highlighted, the
mid-west is not immune from child sexual exploitation crimes and we at the
National Law Center hope that our training helps our attendees to investigate
and prosecute these offenders who would rob a child of their innocence." said
Richard Whidden, NLC Executive Director.
Our next seminar will be held in Des Moines, Iowa
on September 1 and 2, 2009. For more information on this seminar, contact the National Law Center
